I add 1/2 TSp of oil to my basmati rice, roughly 2 Oz or an egg cup of rice per person, pinch of salt, finger nail depth of water, bring to the boil, watch the bubbles when the rice starts to “slump” turn off the heat put the lid on and cover with a tea towel for about 10 minutes, fluth up with a fork.
    Perfect results every time.
