  1. You REALLY need to mention that a wok only make sense if you use a gas stove (or a wok-induction, but that’s more or less restaurant only). Most people will see no improvement cooking on a wok on electric stove. A flat bottom wok will work better, but at that point it’s just another pan (with way thinner wall than usual).

  2. Stainless steel pressure cooker. I’ve had mine since the ’70’s. So easy for beans or brown rice. Put the soaked beans in a stainless steel bowl and unto a steaming basket in the pressure cooker. Put water in the bowl and an 1′ or so in the bottom of the pressure cooker. Rock out for 25 minutes. I just pull off the regulator and make train sounds with a wooden train whistle while the steam escapes. When it’s all cool, you just cover the bowl and put in the frig. Pressure cooker doesn’t really need to be cleaned. Or, I lightly oil a cookie sheet, spread out rice, divide in to small portions and freeze. Microwave to warm and we always have brown rice available.

  3. @Brian – Love my boos board but it slides all the time, how does yours always look stuck to the counter??? what are you using?

  4. What do you think about cooking equipment like the Kenwood cooking chef xl, that combines a lot of these tool into one?
